Chip-BurginChip Burgin – Co-CEO

With nearly twenty years in the health care industry, Chip brings a wealth of experience to Carolina Billing Services.  For more than a decade he acted as Co-CEO of TransMed, a ambulance transport service in the Myrtle Beach, SC area, gaining the experience that is now the foundation of Carolina Billing Services.  Actively involved in the South Carolina EMS Association, his hands-on commitment to the industry resulted in his leadership as the Chairman of the SC EMS Association Political Action Committee (PAC) and his contribution as the Liaison for the Private Sector of EMS to the Executive Committee of the SC EMS Association. Chip’s wife Chelsea is a family medicine physician in South Carolina, and they have one son, Denver, and a daughter, Tori.

KirkKirk Burgin – Co-CEO

Kirk has worked in the ambulance industry over the last 15 years in varied roles from EMT to ambulance owner/operator of TransMed, a successful private service in Myrtle Beach, SC. He now applies that experience in his work as consultant and specialized EMS billing service provider at Carolina Billing Services.  With his co-leadership of the private service, the business grew to include four locations and over 100 employees.  A hands-on participant in the medical community, Kirk served on the STEMI Committee for Georgetown Memorial Hospital, working to hone the community’s response to acute myocardial events. Since moving to the upstate he has focused his advocacy efforts on education and now serves as Board Chairman for Eddlemon Adventist School in Spartanburg, SC.  Kirk and his wife Mindy have three boys, Austin, Micah and Landon, and they enjoy spending time in the outdoors.

David-PorterDavid Porter – Business Development

David has an extensive knowledge and experience in both the public and private sectors. He has held positions such as field level EMS supervisor, Emergency Services Division Director and County Administrator in a mix of rural and urban communities. David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Emergency and Disaster Management and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. David lives in the upstate of South Carolina where he enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, sailing and golf.

DesireeDesiree Magnant – Marketing Consultant

At home in the healthcare industry, Desiree brings marketing perspective spanning all aspects of the healthcare spectrum, from hospital and ancillary services to physician practices.  Prior to healthcare marketing leadership, Desiree was a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and operations leader for such hospital-based growth service lines as cancer, comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation and cardiovascular services.  Her unique combined background in operations and marketing provides a well-rounded filter for creating business development solutions for clients.  She lives in the North Carolina Foothills with her husband Keith and three children Chase, Danielle and Daine.
